We "Are" Engineering, Repair, and Manufacturing

Engineering

The NFPA70E standard which requires labeling and determining arc flash levels is just part of our business. As leaders in short circuit studies, relay coordination, and load flow studies, the implementation of arc flash studies is a natural extension of our business. Our engineers will come to your facility, thoroughly investigate your power distribution system and provide recommendations on compliance to the new standards. We provide task specific training by bringing our training center to you. Equipped with switchgear, breakers, and controls to “liven” up the switchgear, we can provide task specific training on the proper use of arc flash protective equipment, understanding zones of protection, and how to decide whether it is safe to turn the circuit back on. And when we are done, the data is yours.

Repair

Crown ERAM is born out of the years of experience in working for and with OEM’s of switchgear. This allows the experience gained over many years to be applied to new testing techniques which make the traditional methods used by others obsolete. Our STEP ONE testing uses the new programs defined by us called the BREAKER EKG and SWITCHGEAR EKG. Similar in approach to the methods that revolutionized the motor business with vibration analysis and EMAX spectrum testing, our program allows a 5-minute  test to conclusively determine which breakers or cubicles should get the priority when expenditures are required. If further evaluation is required, using the new 100 amp digital low resistance ohmmeter with printout, or the megger, or other such tools can be applied as needed. Using a digital force gauge, we can determine the force required to trip a breaker, and how far out of spec it is. Examining a breakers’ speed, at rated control voltage AND reduced voltage, provides evidence beyond a shadow of a doubt how the breaker will behave under system disturbances, which is what they were designed to handle when they were new.

Manufacturing

As an authorized sales channel and application engineering business, we are proud to announce we are providing retrofit and retro-fill solutions to the age-old DC breakers made by GE and Westinghouse. From custom bus design, to sheet metal cabinets for control or switching, our company can provide the best solution, at the most comparably competitive rates.
